Trust Administration

Choosing a trustee to administer a trust is a key part of estate planning. The fiduciary role and responsibilities of a trustee have become more demanding under the provisions of the new Washington Trust Act, which went into effect on January 1, 2012.

Sometimes there are no family members or friends who can adequately serve as trustee, whether for lack of time, desire, or experience. Large institutions are willing to serve as trustee, but these are not always right for everyone. If so, Rehberg Law Group’s trustee services are an option. As trustee, we administer the trust on behalf of the beneficiaries. Since we monitor investments but do not serve as investment manager, your existing investment advisor relationships can be preserved.
